Presidents of 6 global Design Universities meet at ECNU

Presidents of six global design universities met at East China Normal University(ECNU) on March 25, 2016 to explore further cooperation and working schemes for the coming year.
Guests from Europe, the United States, and New Zealand came to Shanghai to attend the Global Art & Design Academy (GADA) Joint Conference and International Design Education Forum Annual Meeting held at the Yifu Building at ECNU. Their universities are all members of the GADA.
The meeting, themed Contemporary University Design Education With International Perspective, covered a wide range of topics such as education and train objectives, curricular and teaching method reforms and graduate employment. The participants also answered questions from the students of ECNU School of Design.
GADA was established in November 2015, the first of its kind in China. Its members included the ECNU School of Design, NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano) of Italy, the Santa Fe University of Art and Design (the United States), the Newschool of Architecture & Design (San Diego), and the New Zealand Media Design School. Curriculums, student credit systems of the member schools are recognized by each other, and the schools share resources and academic research information among each other. Undergraduate students obtain access to two yearlong study in another school after finishing the first two years at their home school. While three-year postgraduate degree pursuers can transfer to a new school each year. Dual degree and double major courses are also provided.
